Newsletter Structure/GuidelinesOther submission types and or ideas will gladly be considered. But remember that we are trying to keep the newsletter at a reasonable reading length for our members' busy lives. The ideal submission size is 300-400 words.
If you need to brainstorm or flesh out an idea, please reach out to anyone on your community board through email ([email protected]), Facebook, our website, or however works best for you. We are more than happy to help in the process! Interpretive Site/Interpreter Spotlight Do you have an amazing site that you think more fellow interpreters should know about? Maybe you want to showcase an interpretive project at your site that you think others could be inspired by. You could even share the tips and tricks from interp to interp on the best ways to visit and explore the site. We would love to highlight and showcase anything you want to share about your site or yourself as an interpreter! This is also a great chance to share some beautiful pictures with the NAI world. JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion) This section is devoted to projects, personal experiences, creative writing, or sharing resources on JEDI. You can even use this to continue to challenge the injustices and systematic issues within the field of interpretation. It is important that we continue to have these conversations, and your voices are critical. More resources from NAI on DEI can be found here Interpreter's Toolkit It is crucial that these newsletters function as a means to serve our member base. In the interpreter's backpack & toolkit you can share or reflect on a resource, an evaluation tool, some important data that influence interpretive decision making, or anything you think may aid your fellow interpreters. It can even be a project or program that experienced great success for you and you think could for others. This is about continually growing as interpretive professionals. Wild West Native Species As a means to stay in touch with the local ecology, this section allows contributors to highlight plants, animals, or anything else native to our region. A thoughtful narrative or story of the integral role these entities play in our region and why others should know about them. Photos From Around the Region Simply put, we want your photos from around the region! Beautiful scenery, interpreters, experiences, whatever you've got! Don't forget that a thoughtful sentence helps to contextualize the photo, and make sure to include a land acknolwedgement. |
